Get ‘em started early

Forgive me for the kid-friendly posting. Not to worry, I’ll resume the dick and fart jokes next time. But I can’t stress enough how important it is to start a child early on experimenting with different foods and flavors**. It sets the table (pun completely intended, bug off if you don’t like it) for the child’s eating habits and dietary patterns in adulthood.
I know this, of course, from my extensive experience not raising kids and having no fucking idea what they require for physical and mental development. In fact, my niece Micaela (pictured) is probably better off preparing her meals herself than with her Uncle Harold being temporary caregiver. One time when she was 3, I fed her ice cream and a Cadberry creme egg for dinner. Bon appetit.
For the record, this picture was taken at a cute Italian cafe in Santa Barbara - the waitress was extremely friendly and patient with a party of 15 people. She also seemed to know every customer by name. I would come back here the next time I decide to spend a weekend with a bunch of wealthy older white people who love NPR, gaudy picture frames, and Steve Martin romantic comedies. Damn, maybe I am a wealthy, older white person.
** however, if you feed your 5-year old kid sushi, you’re an asshole. There is a global tuna shortage. Don’t waste it on a kid who could care less how many international fishing treaties were violated to procure the toro sitting on his plate.
