Nom Nom (food truck)

Me: “I’ll have the bbq pork banh mi with jalapenos and pate”

Hot Foodtruck Girl (HFG): “Do you want a chicken lemongrass taco also?”

Me: “Um, ok sure.”

HFG: “We also have today these amaaaazing minced tofu spring rolls…do you want to try those as well?”

Me: “[fumbling for more cash] Um, yeah sure, I’ll take those too.”

And there you have it folks.  On a sunny day on a Miracle Mile sidewalk, a quick 25-second foodtruck transaction clearly demonstrated the awesome up-selling power of an attractive woman.  I freaking HATE attractive women.  I’m not talking to them anymore.  The last time I talked to one I ended up with a 15% adjustable rate mortgage for a house in Riverside.

Anyhow, I didn’t mind this upsell because at the end of the day, the banh mi sandwich was not only one of the better food truck items out there, it was one of the better banh mi sandwiches I’ve had in a very long time!  The duck liver pate is optional, but I highly advise having it, the pate mixes very well with the japapenos, pork, cilantro and quality roll.  While the taco was good, I think you’re better off going to Kogi for foodtruck tacos.  The minced tofu springrolls were also good but I want to stress: GET THE BANH MI SANDWICH.  And don’t be a sucker.  - H.
