I love the mathematical elegance of a sharply-edged ice cube in my cocktail before it starts to melt into an amorphous, H2O-spewing dilutive lump. A new ice cube evokes a number of emotions and descriptions by association: promise, hope, utility, titillation and intoxication. On the other hand, shaved ice is awesome too. Ok, fine. As long as the ice keeps my damn cocktail cold, life is good.

Micheladas are sort of like bloody marys. A really good one will make a morning drinker out of you, while a bad one will turn you into a miserable s.o.b. In my opinion, a positive sign is if the tomato/clamato mixture has a slightly seedy texture.
